Penelope Cruz to star and produce new drama 'Layover'

Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz has signed on to star and produce "Layover," a drama by writer and director Toni Kalem.

Cruz will produce Layover alongside Young and Kelly with Fortitude International's Nadine de Barros, with Robert Barnum confirmed to executive produce.

The film, adapted from a novel of the same name by best-selling author Lisa Zeidner, sees Cruz play the role of successful traveling saleswoman Claire Newbold and follows her adventures after she goes on the lam from her life, reports ComingSoon.

The project is currently in pre-production, backed by Fortitude International.
