Swedish director Roy Andersson's film "A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence", a series of comedic sketches exploring the human condition, won the Golden Lion for best movie at the Venice film festival Saturday. US actor Adam Driver, from the HBO series "Girls", won best actor for his portrayal of a desperate father trying to save his baby son's life in Italian Saverio Costanzo's "Hungry Hearts". Here is a list of the prizes awarded at the Venice film festival on Saturday: Golden Lion for best film: "A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence" by Roy Andersson (Sweden) Silver Lion for best director: Andrei Konchalovsky for "The Postman's White Nights" (Russia) Grand jury prize: "The Look of Silence" documentary by Joshua Oppenheimer (Denmark, Indonesia) Special jury prize: "Sivas" by Kaan Mujdeci (Turkey) Coppa Volpi for best actor: Adam Driver for Saverio Costanzo's "Hungry Hearts" (Italy) Coppa Volpi for best actress: Alba Rohrwacher for Saverio Costanzo's "Hungry Hearts" (Italy) Prize for best screenplay: Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and Farid Mostafavi for "Tales" (Iran) Marcello Mastroianni award for best young actor or actress: Romain Paul in Alex Delaport's "Le Dernier Coup de Marteau" (France) Lion of the Future for best debut film: "Court" by Chaitanya Tamhane (India)
