Hot-headed hip hop star Chris Brown was released Monday from the Los Angeles County jail, thanking God in a shout-out to his fans on Twitter.
"Back to the Music and the Fans. Thank you GOD," he wrote.
Brown was released after serving 108 days of a year-long sentence for violating the terms of his parole in a 2009 domestic violence case involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The celebrity website TMZ said the 25-year-old benefited from a reduction in sentence for good behavior and time he spent in a rehabilitation center.
He is still in legal jeopardy, however. Brown faces up to six months in jail and a US$1,000 (RM3,227) fine stemming from a fight he and a bodyguard got into with a third man outside a fancy Washington hotel on Oct 27.
A hearing in that case is scheduled for June 25 in the US capital.
