Veteran actor Pak Tamam dies

Veteran actor Bustamam Idris, 77, popularly known as "Pak Tamam", died at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center (PPUKM) here yesterday.

Malaysian Artistes Association (Seniman) secretary Hafiz Nafiah said the actor died at about 11.55 pm from lung complications.

His remains would be brought to the Al-Mukhlisin Mosque, Alam Damai, Cheras, for funeral prayers and would be buried at the Alam Damai Muslim cemetery before the Friday prayers, he told Bernama here today.

Bustaman left wife, Mariaty Husin, and six children.

Pak Tamam was known for his silat act in dramas, and also for his role in the drama "Seorang Tua Di Kaki Gunung" which was aired over Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) in the 1980s.
