Veteran actress Neng Yatimah has been in frail condition since the death of her son-in-law, actor Mustapha Maarof last year.
The nonagenarian, whose real name is Buntat Ahmad has been afflicted with heart problem and colon cancer.
Currently, the 91-year-old is under the care of a relative, Isa Sawi in Singapore.
Neng Yatimah's granddaughter, Azlynna Mustapha said after the veteran actress was diagnosed with cancer, the latter received treatment at a hospital but after a while, she refused to undergo follow-up treatment.
"Grandma does not want to feel the pain of a follow-up treatment. She wants to spend her last days in Singapore and when she dies, she wants to be buried in the republic... just like her late husband, Jasni Ahmad," she told Bernama in an interview.
According to Azlynna, the actress' condition worsened after the death of Mustapha, Azlynna's father, as they were very close and she loved her son-in-law very much.
"Although our family has repeatedly asked her (Neng Yatimah) to stay in Malaysia, she refused, saying she wants to spend the rest of her life in Singapore. My father used to send her money during Ramadhan," she said.
Neng Yatimah was famous for her sad roles in Malay films in the 1950s and 1960s. 'Air Mata Duyung', 'Jiran Sekampung', 'Laila Majnun', 'Seri Mersing', 'Racun Dunia' and 'Mama oh Mama', were among her famous movies.
