Vocal injury forces Sam Smith to cancel more gigs

The UK singer had already scrapped a number of shows in Australia at the end of April due to a hemorrhaged vocal chord but treatment means more dates will have to be cut from his tour.

Posting on Instagram, Smith confirmed that he needed to fly to the US for medical treatment and that as a result, performances scheduled in May for the Philippines and Japan have had to be put on hold.

If Smith recovers quickly enough, his next scheduled performance will be at the Hangout Festival in the US state of Alabama on May 15.
