A total of 15 flood evacuation centres in the Gua Musang district have run out of food supply, as well as without electricity and water supply for the past five to six days.
Umno Welfare Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said there were problems sending all form of aid to the centres as road links to the area had been cut off by flood waters.
"All assets belonging to the rescue teams, like helicopters belonging to the Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) and the police, could not fly because of low clouds.
"Aid cannot be sent and not because we do not want to help," he told reporters after the aid sending mission by Umno Welfare Bureau to the Gua Musang parliamentary constituency here today.
Abdul Azeez left from the RMAF base in Kuantan with an helicopter laden with three tonnes of food for flood victims in the Gua Musang district.
As soon as the road link from Kuala Lipis to Gua Musang through Merapoh is passable, two container lorries are ready to bring the food supply and other essential items for flood victims in Gua Musang, he added.
