The situation in Kuala Krai, 73km from here, improved today, and food and medicine supplies were delivered to 28 locations which have been cut off by floods.
International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said helicopters from the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) were used to deliver the supplies to the areas in Kuala Krai which were cut off by flood waters.
"Thank God, the sky has cleared for the first time to enable aid to be flown in to the flood victims stranded in 28 locations in Kuala Krai," he told reporters, here, today.
Earlier, he had visited the flood relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Banggol Ghucil which is housing more than 2,000 victims.
Mustapa, who is also Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman, said the two priorities of the authorities were personal safety and food supply.
He said in terms of safety, the situation was under control, as the MAF's assets had been sent to the affected areas, while the weather was improving.
"I give my assurance that all the flood victims are safe," he said.
Meanwhile, Mustapa said, much had been learned while there was room for improvement in terms of managing the delivery of food supplies and other needs to the flood victims.
He said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would tomorrow look at the managing of the disaster in Kelantan, and he (Mustapa) would report on several matters that needed to be improved.
