IM4U, a NGO that helps nurture and cultivate volunteerism amongst Malaysian youth, will distribute 10,000 tents to evacuees at relief centres in the flood-hit states.
Its chief operating officer, Azlan Rudy Malik, said the distribution of the room-like tents was aimed at providing comfort to the flood victims during their stay at the centres.
"We will also distribute 40,000 sleeping bags to flood victims in the flood-hit states," he told reporters when met at Sekolah Kebangsaan Penambang here Sunday.
So far, he said 1,000 tents and 2,000 sleeping bags had been distributed to evacuees at five relief centres in Kelantan and efforts were being done to send the tents to other flood-hit areas, including in Terengganu and Pahang.
