Mosques in Pahang urged to hold 'solat hajat' after Friday prayers

All mosques in Pahang are urged to hold "solat hajat" (prayers for a wish to be fulfilled) after Friday prayers tomorrow in seeking divine intervention for the floods that have hit several states to fully subside.

Pahang mufti, Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman said there were mosques in the state which had already been conducting "solat hajat" regularly for the same purpose.

"Hopefully, our prayers would be answered with the 'solat hajat' performed en masse simultaneously throughout the state," he said when contacted, here, today.

Abdul Rahman also urged mosques which had already performed the special prayers to continue to do so, for the flood situation not to worsen.

He said the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah had also called on mosques in the state to perform "solat hajat".

So far, more than 24,900 flood victims from 6,398 families have been evacuated to the relief centres in eight districts in Pahang.
