The operation to evacuate 102 tourists from the flood relief centre at SM Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuala Tahan on Wednesday afternoon has been postponed to Thursday due to bad weather.
Jerantut district officer Ali Syahbana Shahabuddin said the advance team rescued the tourists stranded at Mutiara Taman Negara Resort by boat to the relief centre.
"Three helicopters from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), the Fire and Rescue Department and a private one were ready to evacuate the tourists.
"However, the rain and fog forced us to cancel the operation for safety reasons," he told a press conference, here on Wednesday.
