Sarawak floods: 4 evacuation centres still sheltering 1,013 victims

One thousand and thirteen flood victims from 259 families are still sheltered at four evacuation centres as of 8pm.
The state National Security Council records showed that Selangau District in the Sibu Division has the highest number of victims with 866 from 221 families.
A spokesman for the council said the victims were presently staying at two centres, SJK Tong Ah and longhouse Rh. Watson.
In the Betong Division, 97 victims from 19 families are temporarily staying at one evacuation centre, while in the Mukah Division, 50 victims from 19 families are staying at another centre.
In Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Marudu community hall where 76 people were evacuated to after flood waters inundated their villages late last night, closed its doors Tuesday upon the return of the victims to their homes.
A spokesman from the Kota Marudu district office said the victims were from 25 families in Kampung Pancur and Kampung Popok Laut.
