Six people rescued after Seremban hit by flash floods

Six people, including two children, were rescued after being trapped in their houses at Kampung Baru Block C, Ampangan here, due to flash floods today.
Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department operations deputy director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the flash floods occurred at around noon after waters in Sungai Temiang, Sungai Linggi and Sungai Paroi overflowed following several hours of heavy rain.
"The area was suddenly flooded by waters which rose to the knee-level and we immediately launched the rescue operation to save the victims and send them to a safer place. One of the victims was taken to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for further treatment due to coldness," he told Bernama.
The victims were identified as Mahawi Che Nek,70, Zaitun Kassim, 66, Dzainon Kassim, 66, Bahamas Mohd, 50, Aleesya Faisara, five and Arimi Raihana, one.
He said besides Ampangan, other places which were also affected by flash floods were Jalan Tuanku Munawir, Jalan Rahang, and Taman Happy.
