Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has so far provided 70 generators of between 500kW and 1,000kW capacity to states badly-hit by the floods.
TNB senior general manager (operations region 2), TNB Distribution Division, Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, said 45 generators were in Pahang; 19 in Terengganu; five in Perak and one in Kelantan.
"Three more generators are in the process of supplying power in Kelantan. We are facing difficulty in sending generators to Kelantan because of the severity of the floods and few passable roads there," he said in a statement here today.
Abdul Aziz said the generators were despatched to priority areas and flood relief centres accessible by road.
"But we will cooperate with the authorities to ensure that those areas facing a blackout will obtain power supply as soon as possible," he said.
Abdul Aziz said TNB was also sending several more of its own generators or those belonging to its business partners to the affected areas.
In addition, 22 portable generators had been supplied to flood relief centres so far.
"We are collecting more of our portable generators from several states to be sent to where they are most needed," he added.
