KUALA LUMPUR:A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit the the Philippine archipelago at 8am on Monday.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement, said the quake's epicentre was 189 kilometers north of Talaud Islands, Indonesia, near the Philippines, at a depth of 10km.
However, there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia
