Azerbaijan extends invitation to ASEAN chief for COP29
Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Jalal Mirzayev held a meeting with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Azerbaijani ambassador to ASEAN Jalal Mirzayev presented an invitation to Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn for the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The invitation marks an effort to strengthen ties between Azerbaijan and ASEAN.
During their meeting in Jakarta, both leaders expressed a mutual commitment to enhancing relations and explored potential collaborations. They also exchanged views on ways to promote ASEAN-Azerbaijan cooperation, including in addressing climate change and other issues.
COP29 is set to take place next month in Baku, Azerbaijan, where a large number of heads of state and government are expected to participate.
