The Shura Council Human Rights Affairs Committee of Bahrain denounced the statements of the US State Department Spokesperson John Kirby on human rights in Bahrain.
Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reports that the committee slammed the statements as unilateral and lacking credibility, pointing out that those statements do not serve the Bahraini-US relations.
The committee expressed hope that relevant parties in the US adhere to professionalism and objectivity in getting information about the real situation in Bahrain.
It also underlined keenness of the executive, legislative and judicial branches on human rights, being one of the cornerstones of the royal reform project.
It urged the US to deal responsibly with the false information aimed at tarnishing the kingdom's image concerning human rights.
The committee also pointed out the existence of specialised official and non-government channels following up on the issue and issuing periodic reports Bahrain is keen to present at international gatherings transparently and clearly. -- Bernama
