#BuyPens: Syrian refugee now runs 3 businesses
Abdul Halim now owns three businesses, thanks to the world's generosity.
SOME of us might still remember the story of a Syrian refugee who was pictured selling pens by the street, with his daughter sleeping in his arms.
Fortunately for Abdul Halim al-Attar, his story, which tugged at the heartstrings of millions worldwide upon seeing that photo, has a happy ending.

However, Abdul Halim, who now resides in Beirut, Lebanon, does not forget his fellow Syrian refugees.
So he decided to hire them to work with him.
Currently, there are 16 of his fellow refugees working at his restaurant and shops.
Last August, a picture of Abdul Halim and his daughter went viral, which sparked the world's sympathy. A Norwegian activist then set up a fund for Abdul Halim and his children, which has successfully turned their lives for the better.
