BEIJING: China stands ready to work with the United States to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during President Xi Jinping's visit to the U.S., said Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
From Sept. 23 to 25, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to the U.S. at the invitation of President Donald Trump, Guo said.
"The two heads of state had in-depth exchanges of views on major issues about China-U.S. relations and world peace and development, and reached a series of important common understandings on issues including building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability on the basis of respect, fairness, and reciprocity," he said.
"The two sides agreed to support each other in successfully hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the G20 Summit," said the spokesman.
"China stands ready to work with the United States to implement the important consensus between the two heads of state and promote the steady, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations," he said.
The 2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting is slated to take place in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, from Nov 18 to 19, while the 2026 G20 summit is scheduled to be held in Miami, the United States, from Dec 14 to 15.
