BEIJING: China-US trade fell by 9.1 per cent year-on-year to $239.709 billion in January-May, according to data released Monday by China's General Administration of Customs.

According to Chinese customs data, China's exports to the US in January-May fell by 9.7 per cent year-on-year to US$177.416 billion, while the US exported US$62.292 billion worth of goods to China, down 7.4 per cent year-on-year.
Separately, in May, the trade between the two countries amounted to US$39.627 billion: the US imported US$10.807 billion worth of goods from China, while China imported US$28.819 billion worth of goods from the US, the General Administration of Customs said.
Meanwhile, China-Russia trade decreased by 8.2 per cent year-on-year to US$88.796 billion in January-May.
According to customs data, China imported goods worth US$38.886 billion from Russia during the reporting period, down 6.6 per cent from January-May 2025. Deliveries from Russia to China decreased by 9.5 per cent year-on-year to US$49.91 billion.
In May alone, the trade between the two countries amounted to US$17.7 billion: Russia exported goods to China worth US$9.6 billion, and China exported goods to Russia worth US$8.1 billion, the customs specified.
According to China's customs, the trade between China and Russia increased by 1.9 per cent year-on-year to a record US$244.819 billion in 2024.
