COVID-19: Indonesia records 3,989 new positive cases

Indonesia has recorded 3,989 new positive cases of COVID-19 within 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 244,676.

Based on its official government website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id today, 107,370 patients were being monitored for the viral infection.

Between noon yesterday and noon today, 105 more deaths were recorded, bringing the cumulative number of fatalities to 9,553.

Jakarta province which is again under large-scale social restrictions for two weeks beginning last Monday, still has the highest total number of positive cases, with 61,966 including 1,138 new cases.

East Java province has recorded 2,965 fatalities in total, the highest so far, followed by Jakarta (1,541), Central Java (1,252) and the rest of the provinces.
