COVID-19: Singapore reports 42 new cases; tally now at 57,357

"Based on our investigations so far, there are four cases in the community, one being a Singapore Permanent Resident and three Work Pass holders," said the republic’s Ministry of Health (MOH) in its brief data released here today.

The ministry said there were also 10 imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Data on the remaining 28 cases was not immediately available.

In the full data released late Friday, the ministry classified 973 of the reported cases as imported, 2,233 as community cases and 54,109 involving dorm residents.

The MOH said an imported case has been removed from the tally yesterday as the case had presented medical records documenting that she had earlier recovered from COVID-19 infection and is no longer infectious.

A total of 56,607 patients have fully recovered and 49 confirmed cases remain in hospital, but none in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 632 patients who have mild symptoms or clinically well but still tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and are being cared for at community facilities.

To date, 27 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 in the republic.

A new cluster was identified yesterday at SCM Tuas Lodge at 80, Tuas South Boulevard.
