COVID-19: Singapore reports only one new case, tally at 58,020
As at noon of Nov 1, the ministry has classified 1,253 of the reported cases as imported, 2,269 as community cases and 54,497 involving dorm residents. - REUTERS
SINGAPORE:Singapore has preliminarily confirmed only one new COVID-19 infection today, taking the total so far to 58,020.
The republic’s Ministry of Health (MOH) said it was an imported case placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
Singapore reported its first imported case on Jan 23.
In its brief data released here, the ministry said there were no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.
This is the third consecutive day of zero new community infections here.
In its full data issued late yesterday, the ministry said in all, 57,924 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 46 confirmed cases still in hospital and none in the intensive care unit.
The ministry said 21 patients who have mild symptoms, or were clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19, have been isolated and cared for at community facilities.
To date, 28 people have died from complications due to COVID-19 infection here.
The first two deaths were reported on March 21.
