Kate Middleton, who is pregnant with her first child who will be third in line to the British throne, went into labour on Monday, Kensington Palace said.

"The notification has gone out that she is in the early stages of labour after being admitted to the Lindo wing at about 6 am (0500 GMT) this morning," a spokeswoman said.
