NEW YORK: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that humanitarian supplies in the Gaza Strip are running dangerously low, with the situation deteriorating rapidly, and has called for an immediate end to the Israeli blockade to allow the entry of aid, the Palestine News Agency (WAFA) reported.

In a statement issued on Sunday, UNRWA said that more than a month has passed since Israel blocked the entry of humanitarian and commercial supplies into Gaza.

The agency stressed that its teams are continuing to provide assistance with the limited resources available, but warned that stocks are running out and conditions are becoming increasingly dire.

UNRWA urged the urgent lifting of the Israeli blockade and the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries to the enclave, UNRWA added.
