VENICE: The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) and the Baku International Multiculturalism Centre (BIMC) have formalised a strategic partnership aimed at deepening global efforts to promote coexistence, dialogue, and the values of human fraternity.
The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the eve of the forum “The Ties That Bind: A Journey Towards Understanding and Human Fraternity” in Venice. The agreement was signed by Ambassador Dr. Khalid Al Ghaith, Secretary-General of HCHF, and Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of BIMC.
The MoU builds on the foundational principles of the Document on Human Fraternity, signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad Al-Tayyeb. That historic declaration continues to inspire global initiatives that champion mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and cultural understanding.
“This partnership reflects our shared vision to foster inclusive societies through dialogue and education.
“Together, we aim to create impactful initiatives that nurture respect and mutual embrace across communities,” said Ambassador Dr. Al Ghaith.
Hasanov echoed the sentiment, emphasising the importance of institutional collaboration in addressing global challenges.
“By joining forces with HCHF, we reaffirm our commitment to building bridges between cultures and promoting the values of tolerance and diversity,” he said.
The Baku International Multiculturalism Centre is a leading institution in the field of intercultural education and research. Its programs span youth engagement, academic exchange, and international conferences that highlight the importance of cultural and religious diversity.
The signing marks a significant step in expanding HCHF’s global network of partners working to advance the principles of human fraternity through education, policy, and cultural diplomacy.
“The Ties That Bind: A Journey Towards Understanding and Human Fraternity” forum organize by HCHF and Better World Foundation (BWF) will be held on Saturday, with keynote addresses from Ambassador Dr. Al Ghaith; President and Founder of BWF, Manuel Collas; and acclaimed Spanish actress, Carmen Maura, setting the tone for a day of high-level dialogue.
The program features two major sessions. The first, “Framing a Better World: Pathways to Shared Humanity,” will explore how cross-cultural dialogue, education, and global partnerships can advance human dignity and fraternity. The second session, “The Human Lens: Cinema as a Mirror of Compassion and Coexistence,” will examine the power of film to inspire empathy and shared understanding.
