Indian government asks employees to come to office on time
The government has recently introduced a bio-metric attendance system across all its departments in India.
The Indian government has warned all its employees to be in office on time, else disciplinary action would be taken against them.
"Habitual late attendance is viewed as conduct unbecoming of a government servant and disciplinary action may be taken against such a government servant," the personnel department said in a letter issued to all central government departments Monday.
It added "It is also added that punctuality in attendance is to be observed by government servants at all levels. Responsibility for ensuring punctuality in respect of their employees rests within ministries, departments or offices."
