Indonesia records 2,266 positive COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia continues to rise to 147,211 cases while 79,484 patients are still being monitored for the virus.

Based on data published in the Indonesian government official website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id today, 2,266 new cases were recorded in 24 hours in the republic.

From noon yesterday to noon today, there were 72 deaths reported, bringing the death toll to 6,418.

During the period, the province of Jakarta recorded 594 new cases with 19 more deaths and the province now has the highest overall infection with 31, 610 cases, followed by East Java (29,257) and the remaining cases in 32 other provinces.

East Java has the highest death toll with 2,098 people, followed by Jakarta (1,048), Central Java (813), South Sulawesi (347) while the rest of victims were in other Indonesian provinces.
