Indonesia's COVID-19 cases rise to 232,628, death toll now at 9,222
Indonesia reported 3,635 new COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours. - Filepic/REUTERS
Indonesia reported 3,635 new COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the case tally in the republic to 232,628.
Based on data published today in the Indonesian government website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id, another 103,209 patients were still being monitored for the virus.
Between noon yesterday and noon today, 122 more deaths were reported, taking the death toll to 9,222 people.
Jakarta Province, which has seen large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) reimposed for two weeks beginning Monday, continues to record the highest number of positive cases with 58,582 after 1,113 new cases were reported.
The highest number of fatalities, however, is in East Java, which has recorded 2,896 deaths, followed by Jakarta (1,495), Central Java (1,195) and South Sulawesi (392) while the rest occurred in the other provinces.
