Indonesia's COVID-19 cases rise to 42,762, death toll at 2,339

The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Indonesia has surpassed 42,000 after 1,331 new cases were reported within 24 hours.
Indonesian government spokesman on COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto, said that over the past 24 hours, another 63 deaths occurred bringing the total number of deaths to 2,339.
"There are currently 42,762 positive cases while 17,923 patients are still under surveillance for COVID-19," he said in his daily press conference broadcast via the National Disaster Management Agency's (BNPB) official YouTube channel.
East Java recorded the highest death toll of 664, followed by the provinces of Jakarta (578), West Java (171), South Kalimantan (150) and the rest in the other provinces of Indonesia.
