Indonesia's COVID-19 positive cases surpass 130,000

The number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continues to rise, surpassing the 130,000 mark, with 86,619 patients still placed under surveillance.

Based on data posted on the Indonesian government's official website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id today, 1,942 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases to 130,718.

Between noon yesterday and noon today, 79 more deaths were reported, bringing the overall death toll to 5,903 people.

Jakarta province recorded the highest number of positive cases at 27,153, followed by East Java (26,220) and the rest in the 32 other provinces.

The province of East Java recorded the highest total death toll at 1,931, followed by Jakarta (959), Central Java (751), South Sulawesi (338) and the rest in other provinces of the republic.
