IRAN'S Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Thursday (July 23) that one of three oil tankers caught fire after an explosion while attempting to traverse what they described as a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC said the two other vessels turned back, but the statement gave no vessel names or timing.
The IRGC Navy said the Strait of Hormuz is under its control and "completely closed" for as long as U.S. military actions continue.
It warned that no oil tanker would be allowed to enter or leave without coordination with Iran, adding that any vessel "deceived by the United States" attempting to pass would meet the same fate.
Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned that if U.S. threats are carried out, the armed forces will not allow the export of "even a single drop of oil," and that the region's oil, gas, electricity and economic infrastructure will be targeted.
