MOSCOW: The Kremlin said on Wednesday that France's test launch of a nuclear-capable missile showed that Europe's defence identity was being built in terms of confrontation with Russia, describing the strategy as a "dead end".

Asked to comment on the launch, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia saw it as a loud and clear message, but that Russia remained open to dialogue.
