Malaysia condemns Istanbul bomb blast - Wisma Putra
The Foreign Ministry said that there were no Malaysian casualties in the inciden.
Malaysia has strongly condemned Saturday's bomb attack in Istiklal Street in Taksim Square, Istanbul killing five people and injuring 36 others including 12 foreigners.
In a statement here today, the Foreign Ministry said that there were no Malaysian casualties in the incident, and the Malaysian Embassy in Ankara was in close contact with Malaysians there, including students in Istanbul.
"The ministry, through the Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara will continue to monitor the situation," the statement said.
The ministry also reminded Malaysian citizens residing in and travelling to Turkey to always give utmost priority to their personal safety and the security of their surroundings, and to closely monitor and comply with any advisory issued by the Government of Turkey.
Wisma Putra stated that the Malaysian government expressed its deepest condolences to the Government of Turkey, families and people affected by the attack.
