Man dies after taking selfie with a gun
Local police are still investigating the cause of his death - Facebook/Oscar Otero Aguilar
A 21-year-old man from Mexico City tragically died from a gunshot after taking a selfie with it, reports the Huffington Post. Oscar Otero Aguilar attempted to take a dramatic photograph earlier this month when the loaded gun with which he was posing went off and killed him. According to a Mexican newspaper Excelsior, Aguilar had been drinking with friends prior to the incident. His friends said Aguilar had grabbed a gun with the intention of posing with it for a photograph and posting on Facebook later. Police said Aguilar had "borrowed the gun and was waving it around" as he attempted to take a photo, WFTS-TV reports. Unfortunately, the gun went off and shot Aguilar in the head. He died soon afterward. Mexican magazine Proceso reports that one of the friends with whom Aguilar had been drinking was arrested following the incident. It's unclear, however, if any charges have been filed against him. Police are reportedly still investigating Aguilar's death.
