Moderate earthquake hits southwest of Jayapura, Indonesia

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck off southwest of Jayapura, Indonesia, at 6.09am today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

The department said the quake did not trigger a tsunami.
