ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (July 26) he intends to travel to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, despite criticism from New York mayor Zohran Mamdani.
In an interview with Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo," Netanyahu said he expected to attend the annual U.N. gathering unless security conditions changed.
"I do intend to come to New York," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu also criticized Mamdani, alleging that the mayor was "fomenting hate" and said some Jewish residents of the city were fearful.
Netanyahu also warned Iran against any future attacks on Israel, saying Tehran would make a "terrible mistake" if it struck Israel directly or through proxy groups.
"Israel's response will be very, very forceful," he said.
