BRUSSELS: A Russian drone attack on a train on Ukraine's border with NATO member Poland on Sunday was meant to scare Western countries supporting Ukraine, European Union's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday (September 14).
"I think we should act the opposite. We should show that we are there for Ukraine and we are not scared," she told reporters in Rovaniemi, Finland where she attended a summit on Arctic strategy.
The drone hit the passenger train shortly after former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other European diplomats had used the same line.
The train, on a route frequently used by foreign delegations returning from Kyiv, was attacked just 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Polish border, Ukraine's railway operator said.
No casualties were reported.
