Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced a 24-hour five-day nationwide curfew beginning on the last day of Ramadan until the fourth day of Eid al-Fitr (May 23 - May 27), reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Ministry of Interior called on all individuals and entities to fully comply with the latest instructions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Kingdom, including the necessity to continue adhering to the measures of social distancing and preventing gatherings of five or more people.
Until then, the Ministry said free movement is allowed during the day for eight hours from 9am to 5pm in all cities and regions of Saudi Arabia - except for Makkah city.
Makkah will still continue its 24-hour curfew, it added.
Commercial and economic activities will also be allowed during the period.
