Singapore Riot: Police made more arrests - Acting PM Teo
Acting Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said the police made more arrests in connection with the Sunday night riot in Little India.
He said investigations would continue so that those who ran foul of the law would be dealt with strictly, firmly and fairly, in accordance with the law.
"To make sure that things remain calm, we have introduced an alcohol ban. The police have increased their presence in foreign worker dormitories and places where foreign workers congregate so that life can go on as normally as possible, and everyone has a feeling of security," he said in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
Teo, who is coordinating minister for national security and home affairs minister, said a committee of inquiry would be formed by the end of this week.
