THE Strait of Hormuz remains closed, and Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy will not issue passage permits to any vessels until further notice, an Iranian military source said on Sunday.

On the same day, Iran's Tasnim News Agency said that maritime navigation data showed that no vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the Iranian military announced its closure on June 20, with traffic dropping to zero.

The report said that, contrary to claims by the U.S. military, the strategic waterway is currently blockaded under Iranian control.

The Iranian military said it has closed the Strait of Hormuz again over Israel's continued attacks on southern Lebanon, citing a breach of Iran's agreement with the U.S. to end the war. However, the U.S. military has said "traffic continues to flow" in the strait.
