Strong 7.1-magnitude quake hits off Myanmar

The quake hit at a depth of 119km, some 81km northwest of Monywa and 1,916km northwest of Padang Besar, Perlis.
A strong 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar at 9.55pm today.
The quake hit at a depth of 119km, some 81km northwest of Monywa and 1,916km northwest of Padang Besar, Perlis, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said.
According to the department, there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia at the moment.
