Suspects out on bail
British police said on Friday they had released on bail two people who were arrested after three women allegedly spent 30 years as slaves in a house in London.
The man and the woman, both aged 67 and neither of whom are British nationals, were "bailed until a date in January pending further enquiries", Scotland Yard said in a statement.
The pair were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of being involved in forced labour and domestic servitude, police said.
They have not been named.
A 69-year-old Malaysian woman, a 57-year-old Irish woman and a 30-year-old Briton who had apparently spent her entire life in servitude were rescued last month.
The Irish woman called a charity having seen a programme about domestic slavery on television.
Police worked with the charity and the three women were rescued on October 25.
The two suspects were then arrested on Thursday "as soon as officers had established the facts and were satisfied the victims were aware of police intentions".
