Thai authorities have not decided whether the suspects in the deadly Bangkok bomb attacks on Aug 17, will face trial in civilian or military courts.
The investigating officers and the attorney-general will have a role in considering in which court the trial will be held, depending on the evidence gathered, says Thai Police Chief, Police General Somyot Pumpanmuang.
If the criteria fulfills the requirement for the military court, then it must be brought to that court," he said, adding that it was a serious case that involved processing of explosives and weapons.
Yesterday, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha questioned the need for the suspects to be tried in the military court.
Meanwhile, a Chinese national was brought to several locations yesterday and today for a re-enactment of the suspect's role in the bomb attack.
Thai police spokesman, Lieutenant General Prawuth Thavornsiri said the suspect revealed he had carried a backpack which was believed to contain a bomb, and handed it over to a man clad in yellow shirt (the alleged bomber whose image was captured in closed-circuit television CCTV at Ratchaprasong intersection).
He said the incident occurred at a train station in the Hualamphong area. READ: Thai bomb leader fled to Bangladesh on Chinese passport - police
