BANGKOK: Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is safe and has "entered the legal process" after returning home from 17 years of self-imposed exile, his youngest daughter said on Tuesday.
A police convoy escorting Thaksin Shinawatra was seen arriving at the country's Supreme Court.
Paetongtarn Shinawatra posted the message on Facebook soon after his arrival at the Supreme Court. She also posted images of Thaksin together with his family.
Thaksin, 74, who fled into exile in 2008 to avoid jail, is due to hear the sentences against him, according to police. Those include abuse of power and corruption, among others. He has denied wrongdoing.
