Traffic screeched to a halt in Hong Kong as people jumped out of their cars and scrambled to scoop up money after an armoured vehicle spilled nearly US$2 million onto one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares on Christmas Eve.
The city’s media have described the event as a gift from heaven.
A video posted on YouTube showed residents and commuters rushing to grab as much as they could before police arrived.
