US presidential election: Astronaut casts ballot from International Space Station

A US astronaut floating above Earth on the International Space Station (ISS) has cast his vote in the US presidential election, NASA said Monday.
Astronaut Shane Kimbrough, the lone US astronaut aboard the ISS, cast his ballot electronically over the last several days.
The vote was possible under a 1997 Texas law that allows astronauts, most of whom are residents of the state that is home to the Johnson Space Center where they train, to cast their ballots electronically while aloft.
Kimbrough is currently aboard the ISS with two Russian cosmonauts and will be joined by Frenchman Thomas Pesquet, US astronaut Peggy Whitson and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy later this month.
