KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday that he would travel to Davos only if documents on security guarantees with the United States and a prosperity plan were ready to be signed there.
Zelenskiy, who had been expected to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, said he had stayed in Kyiv to help deal with the aftermath of a major Russian airstrike overnight that knocked out heating supplies to about half of the residential apartment buildings in the city.
"Certainly, I chose Ukraine in this case, not the economic forum, but everything can change at any moment. Because it is very important for Ukrainians to end this war," Zelenskiy told reporters answering questions in a WhatsApp media chat.
