Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday (March 2) that Ukraine was ready to send drone specialists if leaders of Middle Eastern countries helped facilitate a ceasefire with Russia.

Zelenskiy said that a new round of U.S.-brokered trilateral peace talks with Russia, expected this week, had not been cancelled following the weekend of strikes on Iran, by the U.S. and Israel, and Tehran's retaliation hitting American targets in Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait.

The talks had been scheduled in Abu Dhabi on March 5 and 6, and Zelenskiy said, if necessary they could be held in Turkey or Switzerland.

Zelenskiy also said that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had accepted an invitation to visit Ukraine and that such a meeting should take place on Ukrainian territory rather than in a third country.
