120-year-old 'wonder woman' from Kelantan shares secrets to long life

Minah Deris is still energetic and far from needing the assistance from her children and grandchildren to move around.
An elderly woman, who claimed to be 120-years-old to prove she is indeed still 'strong' as she is able to climb 100 stairs to the third floor of her house at the People’s Housing Project (PPR) at Gua Musang, here.
Even with the help of a crutch, Minah Deris is still energetic and far from needing the assistance from her children and grandchildren to move around.
According to Minah, she has been living in her youngest daughter’s PPR flat since three months ago.
Almost everyday she would go down to buy basic items.
In fact, many dub her as ‘Wonder Woman’.
Minah said that her secret for maintaining her stamina is that she has never eaten greasy food since her teenage days.
“I’m still healthy. I am still able to read the Al Quran. I watch what I eat.
“I am grateful that I am hundred plus years old,” said Minah to Astro AWANI.
Born in Kampung Tendong, Pasir Mas in 1897, Minah before moving to Kampung Kuala Tol, Gua Musang more than 70 years ago to make a living from opening a garden.
She said she received her Identification Card at the age of 27 in the year 1924.
She has eight siblings, six of which have since passed away.
She has four children and more than 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
